Now, _here's_ how you do Everest.
Hire a Russian Mi-26 "Halo" giant helicopter.
Equip the cargo bay with an oxygen atmosphere system to deal with the low air pressure at the top of the mountain.
Fly it in a lightly loaded condition to the top of the mountain and land there near the highest point.
Enjoy a three course meal in the heated cargo bay.
Exit the helicopter on the mountain's summit and get photos showing yourself standing on it holding an enormous flag.
Hurl any other flags you find there off the mountain.
Using a shaped explosive charge sever the very highest point of the summit from the mountain and place it in the helicopter so that no one ever after can ever really reach as high on the mountain as you did, as its summit is now in your living room.
Plant bear traps and land mines under the snow on the summit and leave.
Tell the Sherpas that you left those bear traps and land mines up there so as discourage those masochistic madmen from ever trying to climb it again, so that they will head to K2 instead.
Don't tell the Sherpas that the summit of K2 is where you planted the five kiloton backpack nuke you got from the Russian mafia that has the tripwire attached to the fake mummified Yeti. ;-)
