Other than keeping the passengers busy while the pilot dives the crash to a
low enough altitude.

That said I'd still be donning the dang thing. (and THEN putting on my
kids.)

And carry enough to be on it the entire time.

Personally while I'd love to tackle Everest (or for a real challange, K2)
but not sure how much I really want to risk my brain like that.
