Not quite. At one end is The Hill; on the other Abe sits, keeping
a close eye on them. Midway is the Washington Monument.

The Mall proper extends to the Washington Monument.
The stuff west of it is technically West Potomac Park.
But most refere to the entire thing as "The Mall".
What's interesting is to see maps of it a 100 years ago or so before its
present form. Complete with a canal, etc.
And now jarringly stuck inbetween is the WWII memorial. The backers
INSISTED it had to be right there. The irony is, it's closed down
on the Fourth of July because it must be tarped over to avoid damage
from the falling fireworks...
