A15 1str EVA "Glass Ball" question

....Right now, I'm watching the SF DVD for A15, and right after Dave
Scott steps down on the Plain at Hadley, he spots a "glass ball". He
marks the spot, and makes a big deal to Jim Irwin to not step on it so
they can collect it later. What was the story on this ball, and where
it it now?

(Hey, at least this one's more interesting than reading stupid retorts
to Brad Guth's bull***...)
