I'm pretty sure a Sikorsky Skycrane or Boeing Chinook would have been able to lift a Apollo CM onto a carrier's deck.
Mind you, this would have required a U.S. Navy/U.S. Army co-op effort in regards to accomplishing the desired results.. a thing as unlikely as launching AAF B-25 bombers off of a USN carrier. :-)
