American English word 'endeavor'.
Note I got the spelling correct in the text I pasted from my posting on
the subject.
I'm still amazed you can build two world class ocean liners for the price
of one orbiter, and still have 400 million left over.
I wonder, did "Endeavour" cost $2 billion including or excluding the set of
structural spares it came from?
And it's "Queen Mary 2", not "Queen Mary II" :-)
The first shows that it's named after the liner "Queen Mary", while the
second would show that it's named after Queen Mary II (1662-94).
Just as its predecessor as Cunard's flagship, "Queen Elizabeth 2", is named
after the liner "Queen Elizabeth". Unlike her aunt Queen Mary, Elizabeth II
wouldn't sanction Cunard's naming the ship after her. However, she did
mispronounce the name as "Queen Elizabeth the Second" at the ceremony.
