In Australia, it's accepted that the favourite prey item of the estuarine
crocodile is the american tourist. They make do with other nationalities,
but the americans seem to be over-represented.

A commercial here in Florida runs something like this:

Little Boy: Where does milk come from?
Not Much Older Brother: Publix (local supermarket chain)

I wouldn't be surprised in the least that the American tourist is so
clueless about how nature really works that they try to pet the crocodile,
"just like the Crocodile Hunter did!"
