They only got parabolic dish radar on their aircraft at the very end of the war.
They did equip some with infrared detectors though, And I always wondered if those glowing red ball "Foo Fighters" were balloons with some sort of super flares on them to illuminate RAF bombers in the night for these I.R. viewers.
