If you ever wonder why the call Grumman "The Ironworks" it may refer to the strength of the TF-9J Cougar's arresting hook:

Somehow, I don't think the trainie pilot got his wings that day. Can't you just see him hanging there, facing the water in complete dejection, as this tidal wave of obscenity comes from the back seat?
It'd be fun to know how they got them out of there... rope ladder? :-D
