....This is true. People who win round-trip flights on game shows have
this option, as it gives the winner time to either a) raise the IRS
extortion or b) sell off the trip before they actually take the
flight. The catch is that they actually have to receive the winning,
and in the case of a non-tangible item like airfare, if they never
take advantage of it the IRS doesn't get jack ***.
....FYI, a) came about after several aged retirees spoke out about
being fracked by anal-retentive IRS workers back in the early 60's by
being denied time to raise the taxes. Turns out these IRS dipshits
were young punks simply jealous of the fact that they had to work for
a living while Grampa and Gramma got to go to Paris. Apparently they
called their respective congressmen, who in turn actually did
something for a change for their constituents. You don't see that
happening these days, alas.
