Not at all. The only space related item in this whole story is that
the perp is an astronaut, the guy she apparantly wanted a romantic
thing with also is one, and the other woman works at the Cape.

Its like saying if a woman who works in a copy centre goes postal,
that there must be something wrong with the copy centre industry.
Nuts.

Theres nothing about this that is "space related " other than what
jobs the three people have. Theres not a whit of evidence that there
is anything NASA related in any of the causes.

I agree. It is a flurry of knee jerk reactions. The only parallel to
Challenger and Columbia is the knee jerk response, NASA reexamines
it"s astronaut selection process, "experts" of all kinds on news
programs pontificate on the "problem with NASA", congressmen calling
for investigations, etc... NASA grounds the shuttle fleet while the
blue ribbon panel lays bare the entire organization.
Drawing a parallel with the Airline industry, when a calamity
occurs, be it a crash, or some problem with a pilot, we don't have
the same, or at least public, knee jerk response, or hear the same
clamor for investigations into pilot selection processes, and
particular models of airliners are not grounded for complete
reevaluation of the design.
