Istr at Modern Mechanix, there were at least two proposals illustrated for military aircraft with _no_windows_ in the cockpit, and which were flown entirely by instruments, all the time (I _think_ one may have been some kind of nuclear-powered heavy bomber concept) or, on later proposals, flight instruments augmented by rendered digital representations of what was around them where you'd usually see your cockpit windows. Uhhhh-huh. Yeah. Right.
And when the computer crashes and then all you see will be BSODs (blue screens of death). And then the aircraft crashes and burns...
