I think the Nazis who came to America and ended up sparking up our
space program, including Warner von Braun, would be extremely
insulted. I know some of these people, and they are very proud of
getting us to the moon. You are implying that they didn't really do
anything they said they did, and that they manufactured a hoax. A
lying Nazi? How could you say such a thing, Brad?
"sparking up our space program" my ass, they were in fact 110% of
absolutely everything we ever had to work with, as well as their
smarts having been at least decades ahead of anything we previously
had on paper that was ever intended to fly off-world.
Unfortunately, as good and as Third Reich as they were, they simply
never got us onto that moon, other than on behalf of a good number of
unmanned orbiting missions (the only exception as possibly A13 was our
onr any only manned orbital effort) and otherwise accomplished various
impact or at best hard landing deployments that were nifty but 100%
robotic, of which could also have been remote flown from the relative
short-term pilot safety of the moon's L1, or even via terrestrial
ground control might otherwise have been sufficient.
I never once said they "didn't really do anything they said they did",
just that pesky little part about our having walked upon that salty,
physically dark and gamma/Xray saturated and double extra toasty moon
wasn't true, which includes any Saturn V getting 50 tonnes into
orbiting that moon hasn't been accomplished. (I'd buy into 22.5 or
possibly 24 tonnes via Saturn V)
I'd have to say they tried every wise old trick within their Yiddish
Third Reich fly-by-rocket book as for getting us onto that salty old
moon of ours, but of our failing to have provided a viable fly-by-
rocket lander, being stuck with an insufficient, spendy though
reliable Saturn V, and having not one rad-hard astronaut to spare is
what seems to suggest that there were certain technological and
biological limitations to such early fly-by-rocket expertise.
Them smart German Yids got our perpetrated cold-war butts safely to/
from LEO and possibly to/from the moon's L1, but that's about it for
human space flight without our crews having to use banked bone
marrow.
