I understand your concern, Mr. Ratsch. The prospect that billions of
people are going to first die (almost certainly in horrible suffering
from stroke, cancer, TB, famine, or some other "Act of God"), and then
be tortured eternally, is doubtlessly alarming.

...And illogical. There is actually no purpose in torturing souls for
eternity based on minor sins. Mass murder I can see, and trolling
usenet newsgroups even more so. Logic would dictate that Hell would
exist only for those souls who God would *not* want to get another
chance to screw up as bad again, much less enter Heaven.

In a court of law, not one but two witnesses results in a stronger case for truth. For example take the MP3 testimony of Mary K. Baxter who was taken to hell for 40 nights by Jesus Christ to show her the torments of hell and the degrees of torment to warn the world that hell is real. He showed her the horrible activities in the left leg of hell, the right leg of hell, the tunnel of fear, the cells in hell, the belly of hell, the heart of hell, the jaws of hell, outer darkness, worms that crawled in and out of the tortured bodies of the lost souls. The fires did not harm the worms. "WHERE THEIR WORM DIETH NOT, AND THE FIRE IS NOT QUENCHED" Mark 9:44, Mark 9:46 and Mark 9:48 http://spiritlessons.com/Mary_K_Baxter_A_Divine_Revelation_of_Hell.htm

Dante had more fun with the basic concept, and Milton had more fun with the Satan's lines.
Mary K. Baxter shows up with some cellphone video of the place, and a souvenir red-hot pitchfork, and I'll take her a lot more seriously.
Considering that God can do whatever He (or She... or It) wants to do with time, why did it take forty trips?
She could have taken the whole trip in a single night rather than over forty nights...which frankly sounds a bit sadistic.
You know, Allah showed Mohammad all of Heaven in one night.
Is Heaven only 1/40th the size of Hell? That's depressing.
You want a detailed description of Hell based on dreams, get a copy of Immanuel Swedenborg's writings.
And remember those detailed descriptions of his regarding what the people on other planets in the solar system look like also. :-D
