Just on a lark, I also tried to send one two days into the future to see if it would also show up at the appropriate time on the newsgroup.
It didn't buy it, so the posting 'Time Tunnel' only works in one direction, no doubt due to quantum uncertainty about the future because of chaos theory.
I call this the 'grandchild paradox'...if you post a message to a newsgroup in the future, and a asteroid hits the planet between the time you post it and the time it's supposed to appear...well then, the message is stuck in some sort of non-existing space-time continuum, hanging around the neck of a half-poisoned Patok sealed in a Borg cube waiting for a radioactive atom to decay into lead, and give it a honorable death.
Even a full flushing of the area of reverse chroniton particles, setting up a Krieger wave reinforced stasis field, and reversing the flow out of the Bussard collectors ain't going to get your ass out of that mess.
Spock is bound to show up, and the SOB is going to have a goatee and be portrayed by Denise Crosby.
Tomorrow...later today...very later yesterday...I'll send a test message only a bit into the future to see if the quantum uncertainty of the future is allowed by our computer overlords if it's only a few minutes off.
Then...I'm going to activate the superconducting nickel-iron asteroid magnet, and keep watching what happens to my predated newsgroup postings as the *** draws nearer...when I can't post even three minutes into the future, that will be the time to get the shovels and steel helmets out. :-)
