How about moonshine? Had a customer give me a liter, and it seems to do a
great job.

Also,
if you can get Q-Tips that are dense packed, you'll be able to clean a
bit easier and not worry too much about leaving cotton threads behind.

I always wondered why DNA tests never claimed the perp was a cotton ball.
