I think you've probably got it. Someone heard there were 5 more Apollo
missions (counting ASTP) and assumed they all were lunar missions. Or
else just a misprint. Either way, in writing or editing, it was
sloppy.
Well, there was a "made for TV" movie about "Apollo 18", a mission to a
site on the farside. But the astronauts on the surface got blasted by a
solar flare and thus got sick and died. Don't know how the guy in the CM
survived it, maybe he was behind the Moon (on the night side) and the
flare was less than a half hour?)?
Turned the CSM so the SM was between him and the Sun.
But this was fiction. But maybe the writers forgot to ignore this Apollo
18. More likely ASTP was counted by mistake instead...
