The five dooms are:
1.) Sun blows up.
2.) Sun burns out.
3.) Rogue star hits Sun.
4.) Giant comet hits Earth ("science thinks it unlikely" although of all the scenarios presented, this one seems the most likely in the short run).
5.) Moon descends, pummels Earth with giant meteorites.
Those are megadooms.
I prefer to think in terms of 'minidooms'.
Asteroid impacts, supervolcanoes, abrupt climate change and collapse of civilization come to mind. Throw in a disease or two for good measure.
The Earth is desertifying, and seems to be past its peak, if we don't take control of the situation, it's going to be mighty dire real soon.
And then there is that pesky global mass extinction thing under way.
