Yeah, I'd say either B-50 or KC-97. (Same tank, either way)
It's too big to be a fighter's tank, too big and symmetrical fro a B-57's
tip tank. And too small and teardrop-shaped to be a tank from a B-47.
KC-97 would be a really good candidate, as they were being gradually
replaced in the tanker role by the KC-135 starting in 1956. So the time
line is right on the nose for drop tanks being surplus by 1960.
