And how far did the guys in the rovers go?
A17 held the record with a maximum distance of just over 7 km away from
the LM.
(At any given moment, the crew had to be within walking distance of the
LM based upon their remaining consumables. This distance slowly
diminished as the EVA went on.)
Even Shepard and Mitchell walked almost 1.2 km to near the rim of Cone
Crater.
