to start actually *contributing* like we used to not all that long
ago. That means actively going out and seeking *real* space history
topics to discuss, finding websites or news article of note, and
posting links of said. I, for one, have an idea on how I'll contribute
that I'll go into on a follow-up post, but for now I'm calling on
everyone else here to help bring this group back to a normal semblance
of life. This is a chance for us to say, as a group, that we will no
longer tolerate how the trolls, retards and neo-nazis have
deteriorated this group, and that they no longer have a place here
under any circumstances. Our contributions and our killfiles will
speak for us, and from this point on that's all they'll get.
...I'm serious on this, kids. Let's at least make the attempt at one
last stand against the claims that usenet is in its death throes. If
it dies, let's at least go out fighting and on a high note. That same
sort of esprit d'corps that made the Columbia Loss FAQ possible almost
six years ago is still there. We just need to rally it again and focus
it on bringing this group back.

you GOTTA love this guy. Really.
I have to say that I have been enjoying the Colombia Loss Report
discussion.....lots of talk about things way over my head.
I suddenly remembered that I've had email conversations with Mary back in
the day, mostly asking questions about things she was working on....those
were great to get clarification on things I didn't understand. As I remember
things like that I also remember Henry Spencer and being amazed ALL the
time.
I would to see more Brad Guth-less drivel here and for that I have
hope....but everyone else I look forward to great reading in the years to
come.
Maybe every once in awhile I will have something to contribute too....if
not, I think I will be happy to simply lurk.....
