This sentiment is a rational response for an inferior specimen who is
justifiably fearful of the outside world. It is a classic example of a
short term beneficial adaptation which causes long term extinction. It
is just the monopolistic argument, benefits a few in the short term, (at
the expense of everyone else, hence the usual resort to force), and
destroys everyone in the long term. Hence, I am comfortable in the
knowledge that history has already set a place for you, my only concern
is how many others you take down with you. Hence the need to isolate
your kind.
You also have the general cause and effect of human behaviour backwards.
The earthly environment, by nature and nurture, made human behaviour
what it is. Only in escaping those environmental constraints do we
become able to progress from such primitive conditioning. Unlike earth,
space encourages us to leave war behind.
But this is obvious to anyone with half a brain. The rest have already
chosen their future, and that is their choice.
Pete.
