This is reported in the "Secrets of War" video, "The Strangelove Factor"
(Google on this is you are interested). The documentary seems quite good so
I accept the claim, but I wish I had a more "academically citable" source
for this information. Does anyone out there know of a written source about
this scheme?
I believe the design was just a giant multi-stage TN device, with a cobalt
or tantalum case to make it a global radiologic weapon.
