Right. But there is sufficient evidence that Carter's attepts were
sabotaged by the neocons that propped up Reagan. In short, those neocons
from the Ford administration, supposedly out of power, were actually
making deals with the Iranians behind the scenes. Carter should have
exposed that!

I guess you consider Bush I a failure, too, right?
: If there were no elections and Jimmy Carter was President for

: the foreign area time and time again just like the ultra left likes it to do.
You make it seem like the right-wingers are winning anything for us.
Carter at least tried to get an alternate form of energy.

The hell with them. What do you want to do force them to stop? They do it
in Middle East and in Asia, too.

: howcome Hollywood is so left wing.
I guess because the artsy-fartsy types simply are. Why are most soldiers
and cops right-wing?
: A popular movie formula is to make the US
: Army out to be the villian, there is this cartoonish US Army General who is
: always eager to go to war and is willing to shoot first and ask questions
: later. I get tired of seeing evil US Army generals in Hollywood films.
They ought to depict the civilians that the generals answer to as evil. I
doubt that that would get past the censors though.

: Would you rather that the military control the military rather than civilians

I'd rather that the people control it through Congress as it was set up in
the Constitution.
