Nation building on Mars? What make you so sure that the locals would be
happy about it? Don't be so sure that there's nothing there
Then there's also the matter if you managed to build a nation there.
You think that the nation there will be obidient forever to the Earth
government and not start a "Free Mars Movement" and start fighting the
Earth government?
Personally, the best place for humans is Earth. Those that not fit with
the Earth society are probably going to move out of Earth or even be
deported out of Earth.
So... I guess that Mars probably would be nothing more but a place
where criminals were put and outcasts hang out.
Maybe it would be kinda like Australia during the British colony days?
As for the Iraq war, the rebuilding of Iraq, and so on.
It's nothing more but a pretend war.
Both the people who 'defend' Iraq and the people causing the insurgent
attacks are controlled by the same group anyway.
