Just make sure that you don't try to kill off all the Soviets in space, only
to find out that your one red-blooded American female is actually infertile.
Thomas Scotia -- Earthwreck, an absolutely dreadfull read.

Thomas Scotia -- Earthwreck.
US and Soviets have a nuclear war. Both sides have space stations. US
station sends down re-entry vehicle to KSC (which is by some miracle intact)
to pick up some really needed goods, including a pregnant woman (possibly to
replace the known infertile woman, but I don't recall the exact sequencing.)
I bet you didn't know that about a half dozen people can launch a shuttle,
did you. Fundamentalist (this is important, because he thinks you can
repopulate the earth with only one woman and about fifty guys, the US space
station has the demographics of the smurfs) station commander (or somesuch
position) tries to destroy the Soviet Space Station before it can fly to
mars, after all, we don't want to share the universe with the commies, even
if they do have a lot more women. He is foiled, but only after damaging both
ships (and offing himself), so both sides have to work together. Book ends
with intrepid Shuttle Commander in charge of combined program, and as a perk
of office he gets to have as his wife the infertile but smart and sexy
Amercian woman, who tells him that his genetics are so good (compared to the
godless Commies) that he should still try and impregnate all the Russian
women.
Blech.
