I knew you'd come around eventually. I'm so glad.

Seriously, though, I agree that the internet is one heck of tool for
getting the message out. Back when I majored in English in college I
predicted in a thesis I got an A+ for that global satellite television
would achieve just that kind of thing. (That was before I came in
contact with the internet at university.) But this way ain't bad, ei-
ther.

Of course there are a few conditions...

* People must know how to read and write (unless multimedia takes care
  of that, but pictures are insufficient for the truly abstract).

* People must know English (otherwise they'll only hear their own cul-
  ture's prejudices reiterated nor can they contribute their own views
  to a wider audience).

* People's individual tastes must not differ so significantly that
  they deliberately turn their back on a global culture.

Other than that we're all set.

Now let's go back to discussing the topical... Ain't that Bush a mor-
on or what?
