That seems to assume a single, common cultural attitude on the part of all
the space settlers. I tend to expect that a wide variety of cultures will
develop beyond the Earth, and that they'll manifest the entire range of
potential hostility toward/indifference to/affection for Earth. Many might
adopt the attitude you describe, but I doubt that they all would.
