I don't see much of a problem transporting a falcon IX first stage on a
trailer. The weight will certainly not be a problem. But the falcon IX
stage will not fit into a standard trailer since it is 3.6m in
diameter. They will have to transport them as oversized cargo, which
requires a permit and some preparations for each road transport.
Air and sea transports are not that much of a problem. Rail transports
are impossible with this size. The russians made a very big deal out of
the fact that the stages of the angara launch system are rail
transportable. But probably that is because the road infrastructure in
russia is not as good as in the US.
For launches from kwajalein they will use a combination of air and sea
transport anyway. I really hope they don't get screwed there by a
larger company like they were in vandenberg AFB.
I wish them luck. If they manage a successful first launch, it will be
a really big event. Maybe the smithsonian needs a new building soon :-)
