Re: All the American's here?

Over the months of lurking I have noticed a lot of flack aimed at NASA
coming from Americans here, and comments from them to the effect that
IMO NASA should have done this that and the other. So I can't help
wondering if any of you lot have ever actually *worked* for NASA, and
had hands on experience of operations. i.e. have any of you's ever
actually worked in the mission control room OR actually worked at NASA
on the spacecraft or rockets over the past 30 years or so since
project Mercury?

If the answer is no, then critical comments here at what NASA should
do, or criticism as to what NASA is planning to do are are somewhat
moot, and NASA will do what it's controlling administrators and their
political masters want it to do irrespective as to what is posted
here.

you're not from around here, are you?

James Oberg (currently the space correspondent for MSNBC and USA Today)and Mary Shaffer had long productive careers at NASA. Jorge Frank, Kim Keller, adn others work there now. Several of us work(ed) for NASA contractors. Mike Cassut, Colin Burgess and Andy Chaikin have written many astronaut biographies and/or general histories of NASA. Kris Stoever wrote the biography of her father, Scott Carpenter. Rand Simberg is a "NASA beat" columnist for Fox and other outlets.

Gus Grissom's son posts here from time to time, but we don't like to talk about him.

So yeah, there is an impressive amount of insider horsepower on this newsgroup.
