Re: Lunar Space Elevator simply isn't for everyone

Ross A. Finlayson; To grow a shell around the Earth a la a kind of
mini-Dyson sphere, helping reduce radiative emissions both to and from
the planet's surface, might involve removing the Moon to a more distant
orbit.
Venus already has a fairly nifty atmospheric shell, along with
incorporating a rather intense layer of S8 that could itself be worth
as much or better than our Van Allen expanse at blocking radiation
influx without hardly blocking the best portions of the visible
spectrum.

So, perhaps what we need is something of sufficient density and mass to
impact mother Earth in a way that'll feed the inner core of our home
world, that's badly in need of a good injection of sufficient matter
that'll become the just the right sort of energy influx that'll kick
re-start our geothermal activity, and also get our magnetic energy back
up to speed.

While the core and surface environment of Earth is getting reset, we
could all move over to Venus and proceed to pillage, plunder and rape
mother Venus into becoming just as polluted beyond the point of no
return, then jump off that sinking ship by simply coming back to a
somewhat renewed Earth that'll have a partially restored Van Allen zone
of death, plus having established a whole lot thicker and greater
density worth of an atmosphere that could have become 25t/m2, within
which 10% O2 should be more than good enough.
