No, I meant that the cancellation of the SST was a near disaster - I
was not clear on that at all. (Each of the three represent different
ways to almost kill your company.)
But how was that a near disaster? Did they amass debt in anticipation
of the contract?
They invested considerable capital of their own in addition to the
goverment funding.
Surely they had to let go of thousands of people, but that's not so much a
disaster for the *company*.
Many of their brightest, best, and most experienced engineers being
let go isn't a disaster? (Not to mention the cost of severance
packages and golden parachutes.)
