As abackup it would be a good system. I am sure that it would be a hard
sell to the Cape Workers, (LOL), and the Congress Rep's that support
them.

That's because many of them would lose their jobs, which could make them
complain loudly to the press and to their elected representatives. From
what I can tell, Florida's representatives tend to fight pretty hard for the
jobs they get from NASA's budget.

The other point is that the Dragon COTS contract is allready
working on the same flight plan, (But the Falcon is to be config. for
reuse).

I would support this option to test the hardware and get the program
going faster, (and that is the way LM should sell it too). You know
once something gets started on the coast, (It's hard to stop, (LOL)).

Which is why it's going to be very hard to kill the Saturn/Shuttle
infrastructure and jobs program in order to save money.
