Not to nitpick, but uploading doesn't require a Singularity. See

If this in fact becomes possible, and uploaded
humans can occupy manufactured forms (android or otherwise), wouldn't it
make sense for astronauts to be uploads?
In general, sure, but that's not going to happen for probably a hundred
years -- personally, I don't think we should wait for it to get real
space development underway.
