On 27 Oct 2006 14:17:58 -0700, in a place far, far away, "Eric Chomko"
<pne.chomko@xxxxxxxxxxx> made the phosphor on my monitor glow in such
a way as to indicate that:
I suspect that Icarian flight might be a little tricky in any g-level
other than zero. The issue isn't just how strong our arms are to produce
enough lift in a miniscule gravity, but where a man's center of gravity is
relative to his arm-mounted wings. A bird has the wings "mounted" much
closer to its center of gravity. A man with bird-like wings in 0.05 g might
be flying upright, like a powerful jet fighter balancing on its exhaust
plume. I suppose only experience will tell if this is a problem to be
easily overcome.
Ballast with a heavy (for the moon) helmet, and/or a helium balloon
attached to the feet...
Rand, is this your description of how to look like a buffoon?
No. Is this only your latest attempt (of the last dozen today) to be
one?
