What kind of political nutcase would think that anyone significant in
the electorate cares about Hubble?
The legions that complained when O'Keefe claimed we couldn't afford to
fix Hubble and finish ISS. Griffin found a way to do both.
No one is going to win or lose an election over it.
In Maryland they might. Two tight races there, govenor and US senate.
It is not a campaign issue in either race.
Sure as hell makes the Republicans seem a lot better than a week ago.
To very few people.
1000s, probably close to 10,000 in MD alone.
What part of *it is not a campaign issue* do you
not understand? Has Cardin been running ads against Steele about
Hubble? No? Then stop making this idiotic argument.
Just because a candidate doesn't run an add about an issue doesn't mean
that it won't effect the outcome of an election.
Also, it is pretty clear that, among other things, you are clueless
about Baltimore/Washington Parkway politics.
It's only clear to morons like you. And that has nothing to do with
winning or losing elections.
GSFC and STScI are both in the region I was speaking of. Keep talking
about an area you know nothing about and which I live in.
I know a great deal about it. More than you, in fact, since you are
under the delusion that Hubble is a campaign issue there.
No, it wasn't until just yesterday in fact, as was Jonathon's and my
point. Jobs, Rand...
It's not, even now. If it wasn't an issue when there was no decision,
Bull***! Many people in MD were mad at Bush about Hubble. In fact,
many people outside of MD were mad at Bush about Hubble. Certainly HST
repair qualifies as trial balloon of sorts regarding the election based
upon timing.
why would it be one now that there's been one? Particularly since
it's been expected for many months?
Expected but not announced like it was yesterday to much fanfare at
GSFC.
Here let's see how many votes are the difference between the senate
race between Cardin and Steele and the govenor's race between Ehrlich
and O'Malley. And then we'll compare those differences to the number of
people that work at GSFC and STScI.
The point is that an annoucement like HST repair favors whoever the
incumbents are.
How does it favor Steele?
The Bush/Steele connection.
What did he have to do with it? What does
the governor have to do with space?
The govenor is a Republican in a heavily Democratic state.
Why are you such a moron?
To be able to communicate with you...
Eric
