Actually, it's a bit more complicated than that. Much of the XNU
kernel is based on Mach 3.0, but it's not Mach and doesn't use the
microkernel implementation. The kernel is actually a hybrid of Mach
3.0 and FreeBSD 5.x.

It's also not the Next window manager. It's something called Quartz.
Next used Display Postscript for its imaging model. Quartz uses PDF.
