No one could seriously take the hostages that were released the day
Reagan took office, Day 444 if I recall right, Carter's embassy
hostages, the folks who made Ted Koppel's name in news, and conflate
them with the hostages taken later in Lebanon while Reagan was
president, the ones he traded arms for. At least no one who paid the
slightest attention.
Wait, 210 US marines died in Lebanon and none died while Carter was
president.
I'm lost as to what your point is.
So is Eric. This is much more often the case than not.
The OT brings up Lebanon but forgets the biggest event in that country
while Reagan was president.
Bonde is a Reagan apologist in the same mold you are a Bush apologist,
Rand.
No, I insist on basing my analysis on actual history and not made up
history. That's trouble for people like you who pretend that Reagan
traded arms for hostages before he became president, conflating the
Carter embassy hostages with the Reagan Lebanon hostages, continuing
your absurdist fantasy about a so-called October Surprise.
But that is exactly what happened and I doubt Reagan even knew how it
happened. You can thank Bush Sr. and his ties to the CIA for that
move.
even after this has been explained to you?
The point is not Carter's hostages vs. Reagan's hostages. But more at
why Reagan was able to have Carter's hostages freed at precisely the
right moment?

Thus, if the problem of technological hopelessness is caused by absence
of care, both by technologists and anti-technologists; and if care and
Quality are external and internal aspects of the same thing, then it
follows that what really causes technological hopelessness is absence of
the perception of Quality in technologists and anti-technologists.
