In the Spaceflight Now report
(http://www.spaceflightnow.com/falcon/f2/), the 1st stage landed in the
designated area where a ship was waiting to retrieve it. So they are
planning to recover the 1st stage and probably have already have done
so. Be interesting to see if they ever re-use it on a future mission
after refurbishment.
The report on SpaceDaily I found an hour later says by the time the
recovery ship got to the splashdown zone they were unable to find the
first stage so no recovery this time.
