A large black hole is headed for earth at 50,000 miles per hour.
What will happen when it hits?
What do you mean by "large" ?
What do you mean by "hit" ?
Sylvia.
Large, a collapsed sun 10 times of Sol condensed down to a singularity
the size of a basket ball. (may have consumed much more than itself)
Hit as run into.
Singularities have no size. You're probably referring to the radius of the event horizon. Nothing special happens on passing the event horizon.
However, tidal forces will wrip the Earth assunder long before it approaches the event horizon.
If by chance, the Earth should avoid getting close enough to suffer that fate, its orbit will have been so messed up that life on Earth would not survive.
Sylvia.
