On Sat, 28 Apr 2007 00:58:11 GMT, in a place far, far away,
simberg.interglobal@xxxxxxxxx (Rand Simberg) made the phosphor on my
monitor glow in such a way as to indicate that:
Perhaps Mormons do have their own planets and it has escaped my
attention. Please feel free to fill me in on what I missed.
How in the world would you know that they don't? Serious
question.
Okay, serious answer. Philosophically speaking, I don't *know* that
they don't, just as I don't *know* that Islamic martyrs aren't
having great sex with their harems in an afterlife or that I don't
*know* Heaven's Gate cultists aren't enjoying the charms of Zeta
Reticuli.
That's right. Yet both religions are quite successful, in that they
continue to gain adherents. That is, they survive, and thrive (an
unfortunate situation in the case of the latter, IMO). Hence, my
original question, to which I still await an answer.
Sorry, by "both religions," I meant LDS and Islam, not "Heaven's
Gate." The latter is clearly unsuccessful, thankfully.
