What survival value did other religions have that this one

Other religions didn't have an obligation to "go to other
planets to find extra-terrestrial life".

That's not what I asked. And it's not even true, in the broadest
sense. The LDS believe that if they follow their doctrine, they'll
each get their own planet. It doesn't seem to have held them back.

Actually, we don't believe that. Not that it matters to anybody I've
ever spoken to who has fallen in love with ridiculing Mormonism, mind
you...they really hate to give up something as juicy as that...but
sorry. We don't believe that.

The reality is boring. We believe that we are literally children of
God, and that we will be 'heirs and joint-heirs' with Christ and have
all that He does.

Now.

If you want to follow that logic, it doesn't leave us with a lousy
planet per person, does it?

It leaves us several options:
1: We believe God created the universe. Therefore, if we are to 'grow
up' and have all that He does, then a mere planet is pretty
piddledink, don't you think? Try 'universe.'
2: The universe may be all there is, period...in which case being
'heirs and joint -heirs' with Christ means that we will be as much
concerned with the running of this ENTIRE universe as God is. Still no
single planet silliness.

or..

3: we don't know what it means. But there's still nothing about each
one having our own planets.

Sorry about that.
