Actually it is stunning how little you know about the military. I
suggest some reading such as joinging as an associate member
USNI...you would learn a lot there So I teach. Sit back enjoy.

The O-5 transition to O-6 level is where SecDefs start making their
mark on the defense establishment. This is where they find people who
agree with and "flesh out" the SecDef's views on how the US military
should "steam" in the next 20 years...because these will be the people
who constantly "thin out" going foward.

Cap the Knife did this quite well during his term (although in tthe
USN he left most of the prunning up to Mr. Lehman). Gates is
prunning. Some people have done some fairly good analysis of "who" he
has pruned and why. The pretty good skinny is that the former
CONSTITUTION was releaved for "personal problems" which more or less
mimic Bill Boys...

Mr. Gates is working very hard in his limited time to undo a lot of
the damage that his predecessor did.

It is going to be fascinating to watch.

Anyway class dismissed. You should along with learning some things do
Manners class We WE. You seem stunningly to lack them.
