as I've explained in a post, with the oil price quickly growing to
$100+ per barrel, we need more energy YESTERDAY, not in 2030, 2050,
2080

Oil prices aren't sustainable at a hundred dollars a barrel. They're
not even sustainable at current prices indefinitely.

That is true, but it is only because CAPITALISM WORKS. The root cause
is the industrialisation of India and China. Part of capitalism is
finding alterntives whether this is in the form of new sources of oil
- the tar sands of Alberta for example, finding new sources of energy
whether nuclear, theremonuclear or renewable.

It is urgent to find alternatives and a sense of urgency is part of
capitalism. So a statement that capilalism will not sustain $100 a
barrel and a statement that because oil is approaching $100 something
should be done are not in fact as far apart as it might seem at first
sight. The high price of oil is stimulating research.

And it's quite nicely funding our perpetrated war upon war, with
roughly a million dead and counting, along with WWIII just around the
corner, not to mention those Americans having lost or soon to loose
their homes, jobs, retirements and medical benefits.

Good thing we're without remorse when it comes down to multiple home
land fiascos, including record numbers of folks taking their own lives
and/or going postal. Apparently by your standards, life is good.
