Fox, BBC etc have a story about a meteorite impact in Peru that made a
crater releasing some kind of gas that made "scores of people sick"
and made a 100' wide crater. Sounds like a ploy to get publicity for
a cheezy sci-fi movie.

Now I remember, I saw this movie, it was called "Evolution" and
featured a meteorite falling near a remote town. Fungus looking stuff
starts "evolving". The hero is a local junior college science
teacher. This must be the Peruvian version.

Before that there was IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE - they weren't talking
information technology..it was a 1953 classic brought to you in 3D - I
remember by brother Donnie always used to steal by ju-ju bees. Damn
him!

It's ridiculous, nothing happened, go back to your computers and
worry
about global warming.
