OK, speculating furiously away, Dongjiao (East Cape?) seems to be a
tourist attraction already: http://www.travelchinaguide.com/attraction/hainan%5Chaikou/dongjiao.htm
So if the theme park/tourist magnet were to be placed there and the
launch site on Tonggu Jiao next to Langlou, that might make some
sense. If so, I'd expect the Chinese government to be trying to get
international hotel and restaurant companies interested in Dongjiao in
the next year or so.
BTW, does anybody here know what "Tonggu" means in English? There seem
to be several around, even in Korea.
