No sir, a chemical/biological attack on the US is unlikely, but if it
does take place it will be rogue elements of the CIA. Any other
scenario is just too improbable for serious consideration.
Politically-correct thriller movie plots are what are too improbable
for serious consideration.
As for a chemical attack requiring enormous sophistication far beyond
the reach of al-Qaeda, apparently you've never heard of Aum Shinriko?
I don't think that the likeliest scenario is a high-school chemistry
teacher of Arab descent, teaching in an inner-city school (and perhaps
living in such a neighborhood, where funny smells are less likely to
be noticed... remember Jeffrey Dahmer) making a chemical weapon.
Although it does save the effort of trying to smuggle it into the
United States.
Instead, think soft targets... steal supplies from a girls' high
school in Afghanistan (massacre the students for cover; girls
shouldn't be going to school anyways) and perhaps on the third try,
wipe out a whole *city* in Bali - all those pagan Hindus as well as
the infidel tourists.
Since Osama bin Laden's calendar of grievances goes _way_ back, I
would also want to strengthen security around Malta.
with conventional high explosive. In your Afghan girls school there
will be mineral acids, probably not cyonide and certanly not
organophosphates which are needed for nerve gas.
No, the most likely scenario is still is ready made chemical weapon
falling into the wrong hands. There is still the antrax attack in the
US. This was the Ames strain og Antrax and came from a US military
laboratory (Fort Derrick). The best security measure was not to have
it at all. Who did it and why is still a mystery. A British born Dr.
Hafill was blamed. He was never charged and his guilt (if indeed he is
guilty) cannot be established in a court of law.
Indeed in my time in theis usergroup I have learned a lot about
America and the way in which the CIA operates. Dr. Harfill's guilt is
the same as my Pedastry. It is a smear designed to distract attention
from the real culprits.
