Re: Does anyone know the current progress with VASIMR?

I watched a test run of the early VASIMR proof-of-concept rig at JSC a
few years ago. Chang-Diaz was and remains very enthusiastic about it.
It's a very interesting engine idea - IF it's coupled with a compact
space-qualified fission reactor, a very important technology which
seems to have dropped entirely off NASA's project list.
