Sorry, but that's just silly. We ran all of Usenet over a fractional
T-1 that was used for lots of other things and 'bandwidth' was never
an issue.

ALL of us? Wow. You now speak for ever NNTP administrator out there Fred.
I'm impressed.

You just did, in your statement about "READING it". Try again.

You're right. I did say READING. But you still don't get it. So let me
try in small words.

If I have tight bandwidth, and I'm reading USENET, I don't care how much
porn YOU are downloading. I do care how much verbal diarrhea you are
injecting into the USENET forum I'm trying to read. Hence, your diarrhea
impacts the bandwidth of those reading USENET, but your porn habits don't.

Umm, why should I try again. Since my point was about the LENGTH of posts
and your solution doesn't address that, I have no idea why I should try
again when admit your solution doesn't solve the problem.

Suit yourself. That's the nice thing about Usenet...

Oh, your value here is what, again?

I'll put the value of my posts up against yours any day Fred.
