Yes, Ian. It was all a conspiracy and Rand did it. <snicker>
Phew, what a loony...

Who said anything about conspiracies. If you do not select the best
people on sheer merit you are in trouble, deep trouble. The woes of
NASA and the Shuttle have had a silver lining in that ESA on a much
lower budget has closed the gap and is even ahead in certain areas.
One might ask the question, why should I as a European care? After all
I should be applauding the success of Ariane, and the linking up of
Arianespace to Soyuz. Mind it is still a pity that space technology
has to be developed on a national basis. Still it is a decision that
America has taken and the running of NASA is indeed purely an American
concern.
The running of the Coalition Provisional Authority is on the other
hand an external matter, a matter for the whole world. The refugees
are a problem for the whole Middle East. Indeed the war was illegal
from the start, incompetantly handled from the start and completely
unjust from the start.
I don't know why you and Rand are so intent at defending the
indefensible. As I keep saying you perport to want cheap access to
LEO. There is no pat solution to this, however if you are serious you
will want the best people working for you. You two, you really seem to
be closet Europeans, you are continually advocating policies that will
cause America to stand still with the rest of the World moving ahead.
If you don't have the best people regardless of other considerations
that is what will happen.
Fred and Rand "closet Europeans"!!!
Now THAT is funny!
What makes you think Europeans want America to stand still? Also
realize that Rand and Fred are just two Americans and in no way speak
for the rest of us.
